Never Been | 2018
‘I have some friends who like to gather there for festivals and satanic rituals and picnics.’
- Never Been, Indea Quinn (2018)
Never Been is a site-specific, participatory, walk-through performance work. A fairytale with a twist, it is set in an imaginary realm shaped by the urban landscape it takes place in. The audience encounters characters who aid, challenge and confuse them in their quest as they attempt high-stakes challenges such as climbing a mountain (multi-story car park), travelling via boat through a portal (paper boats and a water fountain), and playing a tense game of duck-duck-goose.
Never Been was written and performed in 2018 as a major component of Indea’s Honours research and assessment.
